Residencies in Art
Teaching art to people of all ages and abilities!
Traveling to schools, organizations, and communities for an arts residency is a welcome, rewarding teaching experience. Whether presenting the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design or gearing up for a large-scale public art project, I value the interaction with the students, building confidence, and working through art processes that lead to success. Students’ growth in art brings joy!
The South Dakota Arts Council (SDAC) helps make quality arts accessible throughout the state by providing grants to South Dakota nonprofit organizations and artists. These grants are funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and the State of South Dakota. The Artists in Schools and Communities Residency Grants program provides matching funds to schools and nonprofit organizations to host professional artists-in-residence with students of all ages and abilities. Residencies are a minimum of 1 week (20 teaching hours) or for multiple weeks throughout the year.
