The children at St. Joseph’s Indian School taught me about the medicine wheel.
As soon as I arrived at St. Joseph’s Indian School, I heard about the new Rec Center that was being built. I thought, what a perfect opportunity to build a mosaic sign for the new gym. But what could grades K - 3 do to express their appreciation? I asked about the meaning behind the powerful symbol of the medicine wheel, and from their explanations and interpretations, our mosaic sign was conceptualized and realized.

Printing without a press can be impressive!
No matter what grades I work with at St Joseph’s, we are ‘all in’ carving softcut plates, printing on fabric, and learning new art skills together. These hand-printed dreamcatcher bags came together nicely after we practiced making smaller prints and realized the beauty of printmaking was the ability to make multiples to share with friends.
